“Jhumur’s dreams of becoming a doctor shine brightly despite a tough start. With Chayatal Bangladesh’s support, her path from a slum to success is now filled with hope and opportunity.”
My father runs a small food shop on the street, and my mother works long hours in a garment factory. Living in a slum, life was tough, but I found inspiration in an elder sister who had grown up in our community and managed to become a doctor. Her achievement lit a spark in me, and I too dreamed of donning a white coat and helping others. However, my family’s financial struggles made it seem impossible. The thought of affording the education needed to become a doctor was a distant dream.
One day, hope arrived in the form of Chayatal Bangladesh, a school that opened in our slum. This school provided free education and many other necessities to children like me. I was overjoyed when I got admitted without needing to pay any fees. The school not only gave me books and a uniform but also provided tiffin, a school bag, and even new clothes for Eid.
